Question 1

Are you an importer and a distributor, or do you only facilitate the deal?

Accepted Answer

We can support both models depending on the product and the agreement: import facilitation (sourcing + documentation + shipping coordination) or direct supply/distribution (where available, depending on stock and portfolio). We confirm the exact model at the start so you know who owns the goods, who pays duties, and who carries risk at each stage.

Question 2

What documents do you need from me to start importing?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the product category, but typically we'll ask for: company registration details (and tax identifiers, if applicable), product details (name, HS code if known, composition, intended use), supplier proforma invoice or quotation, and shipping preference (air/sea/road) plus delivery location. If you're not sure, we guide you step-by-step and help you avoid missing paperwork that causes delays.

Question 3

Can you import regulated products (food, beverages, pesticides, dangerous goods) — and what changes?

Accepted Answer

Yes — GRUPO AGGY works with regulated categories, but the process is stricter. Expect additional permits and clearances, more detailed labelling and compliance checks, and potential inspections and testing requirements. We'll tell you upfront what's required before you spend money on production or shipping.

Question 4

How long will it take from payment to delivery in Mozambique?

Accepted Answer

Lead time depends on origin country, shipping method, and customs requirements. Typical drivers are supplier production time, shipping transit time (sea vs air), and customs clearance timing and inspections. We provide a realistic timeline early and keep you updated if anything changes — especially around port congestion, inspections, or missing documents.

Question 5

What are the real total costs — what will I pay besides the product price?

Accepted Answer

Total landed cost can include: product cost + packaging, freight/shipping, insurance (recommended), customs duties/taxes + clearance fees, storage/handling (if goods wait at port or warehouse), and local delivery/transport. We can structure a quote so you see the full picture — and options to reduce cost.

Question 6

Do you accept credit terms, or do I need to pay everything upfront?

Accepted Answer

For many deals, payment terms depend on the supplier and risk profile. Options may include upfront payment, L/C (Letter of Credit), bank guarantees, or limited credit terms (15–30 days) for approved contract distributors and wholesalers. We'll confirm what's possible before you commit.

Question 7

What happens if my shipment is delayed, damaged, or seized?

Accepted Answer

We plan for this upfront with risk controls: correct documentation and compliance checks before shipping, insurance guidance (especially for high-value goods), and clear responsibility mapping (who is liable at each stage). If an issue happens, we help you respond fast with the right paperwork and escalation path.

Question 8

Can you help me choose products that will actually sell, not just 'import anything'?

Accepted Answer

Yes — customers often don't ask this, but it's one of the highest-value supports we offer. We can help with product-market fit thinking (who will buy, at what price, and why), packaging and labelling expectations in Mozambique, and channel strategy (wholesale vs retail vs pharmacies vs supermarkets). This reduces the risk of importing stock that sits unsold.

Question 9

If I'm a first-time importer, will you explain everything or will I feel lost?

Accepted Answer

We're used to first-time importers. We keep it structured and documented: a clear checklist of steps, what you need to approve at each stage, and written updates with an evidence trail — so nothing is 'verbal only'. You'll always know what's done, what's pending, and what decision you need to make next.

Question 10

Why should I trust you with a big deal — what proof do you have?

Accepted Answer

We understand that trust is earned. Here's how we reduce risk: transparent process and written records, clear terms with a compliance-first approach and risk management, ability to work with formal instruments like L/Cs and bank guarantees, and multi-sector group experience spanning import/export, consulting, and property. We've been serving Southern Africa since 2009 with 500+ active clients.
